Doctorate Student

My current research involves developing a subgrid scale (SGS) model for particle growth processes in turbulent fluid flows. SGS models are used in Large Eddy Simulation (LES) of turbulent flows where the large flow scales are solved for directly and the effect of the small scale features is modeled. The challenge is to design a robust SGS model that can, as accurately as possible, represent the effect of the subgrid scale features on the resolved scale features under different flow and particle growth conditions.
